Disney Family.com is an online portal where moms and dads can go online to find all of the answers they need every day for their families. It enables parents to find the most relevant information quickly and easily and from a convenient, trusted source. Topics range from best recipes and top travel destinations, to the ages and stages and the education of children. The site’s features include family-relevant search tools with highly rated, best of the Web results. It also offers a diverse range of original and aggregated content specific to the needs and interests of parents. And woven throughout the site is a rich, easy to access community of other moms with shared parenting experiences.

As our world is increasingly mobile, the next logical step for Family.com was to go mobile for on-the-go parents.  The original plan was to create both iPhone and Blackberry-native apps, while maintaining a single universal codebase by building the apps using mobile-friendly HTML/CSS and presenting it in a WebKit or Mozilla wrapper depending on the platform.

Planned features included editorial content, full recipes and a mobile version of Family.com Community.  Unfortunately, the initiative was discontinued and never launched.
